Jamaica’s table tennis heavyweights are set to go head-to-head for national supremacy when the Jamaica Table Tennis Association’s (JTTA) Aubyn Sports Management National Youth and Senior Championship serves off this Thursday at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.
From August 20–23, the island’s leading junior and senior players will battle across four days of intense competition, with the first matches scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. daily.
With national titles at stake, there will be little room for error as players look to outmanoeuvre their opponents and stamp their authority on the local table tennis scene.

The tournament is expected to showcase some of Jamaica’s brightest emerging talent alongside seasoned competitors, creating a highly competitive environment where experience, speed and composure could make the difference between victory and defeat.
Aubyn Henry, chief strategy and development officer, said the championship represents more than just a competition, highlighting its importance to the future of the sport.
“This championship is about identifying, developing and challenging the best talent Jamaica has to offer. We want our athletes to compete with ambition, perform at their highest level and understand that the national stage demands excellence,” Henry said.

The junior competition will also provide an important platform for the country’s rising stars, giving them the opportunity to test themselves against some of the best players in their age groups.
For the senior competitors, however, the objective is clear — win, claim national bragging rights and leave the National Indoor Sports Centre as Jamaica’s newest champions.
As the opening serve approaches, anticipation is building for four days of fast rallies, fierce battles and high-stakes table tennis, with the nation’s best ready to fight for the ultimate prize: national glory.
