Jolyan Silvera, former People’s National Party member of parliament for Western St Mary, has been charged with the murder of his wife Melissa Silvera on Friday, January 19.
Speaking with Our Today, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey has confirmed that Silvera was charged today.
The ex-PNP MP spent last night in police custody following questioning relating to the ongoing high-profile investigation.
Melissa was found dead in her sleep on November 10, 2023, initially suspected of dying from natural causes. It was later confirmed by an autopsy report on December 16, 2023, that she was shot three times in the head.
