Patrick Mahomes has rewritten the financial record books, agreeing a new deal with the Kansas City Chiefs that pushes his career earnings past the $500 million mark.

The 30-year-old quarterback has signed a two-year extension that will take his guaranteed money to $504.75 million and keep him in Kansas City until 2033, making him the first player in NFL history to reach that level of earnings.

Mahomes’ new deal builds on his previous 10-year contract reportedly worth $450 million, with additional incentives that could have added another $50 million. From 2027 onward, his average annual salary is expected to sit around $64 million, topping the current benchmark set by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

On the field, Mahomes has already built a résumé few can match, leading the Chiefs to Super Bowl titles in 2020, 2023 and 2024. Their bid for a historic three-peat was halted in 2025 by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Last season also brought a major setback when Mahomes suffered an ACL injury in his left knee in December, as Kansas City missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Despite that setback, the Chiefs have doubled down on their franchise star, locking in a player widely seen as the face of modern American football for the next decade.
