Rising Jamaican artiste Marcelle Cherie is shaking up the scene with her debut visual EP ELLEMENTAL, which she calls a bold and emotional exploration of identity, femininity, and creative freedom. 

Released on May 31, the four-track project is deeply personal—a self-portrait told through the lens of the natural elements: fire, air, water, and earth.

Born and raised in Kingston, Marcelle has long been immersed in creativity, not just as a singer-songwriter, but as a visual artist with a distinct eye for concept and storytelling. 

Her musical inspirations span from the soul-stirring vocals of Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, and Jill Scott, to the fearless energy of icons like Ciara and Tyler the Creator. This melting pot of influences fuels a sound that’s fluid, boundary-pushing, and full of intention.

“I’m not here to chase what’s hot—I’m building something that lasts,” Marcelle shared. And that ethos is felt throughout ELLEMENTAL, a project that trades industry formulas for soul, texture, and raw emotion.

Each track represents a different element, both sonically and visually:

• ‘Likkle Bass‘ (Fire) kicks things off with explosive energy and dancehall flair

• ‘Sit Pretty‘ (Air) floats with melodic ease and quiet confidence

• ‘Deep Pockets‘ (Water) dives deep into emotion and introspection

• ‘Tunnel Vision‘ (earth) closes the project with grounded clarity and purpose but ELLEMENTAL isn’t just meant to be heard—it’s meant to be seen. Every song is paired with a striking visualizer that brings the elements to life and adds layers to Marcelle’s message.

Whether it’s flames, flow or stillness, each frame is crafted to match the energy of the music and deepen the listener’s experience.

To celebrate the launch, Marcelle is set to host an exclusive EP release party on June 27 in Kingston. The intimate gathering is expected to bring together members of the entertainment industry, collaborators who worked on the project, and close supporters.
