More dollars for Jamaican public sector board members.

No doubt Public sector board members and those who sit on committees were heartened on the news that they were going to get a bump in fees paid to them by the Government.

For some time now the aim has been to close the gap in renumeration between the private and public sectors. 

This year has seen some positive advancements in this regard and should go someway in attracting a better calibre of personnel on state boards.

Last year saw non-executive directors sitting on listed companies take home $1.2 billion for the work they do on boards with the average paid across companies on the JSE coming in at $2 million. 

Below are the new fees for those on public sector boards:
