Member of Parliament for North Central Clarendon Robert Morgan has bemoaned the murder of four men in Summerfield district in Chapelton, Clarendon, on Wednesday, October 4.
“It’s a tragic incident, we regret the loss of life and we regret the fact that these people lost their lives due to the criminal act of another. The community has to heal, we are coming together, we had a prayer meeting there last night, I was present and it was really a sad situation that persons were brazenly cut down like that. It’s a symbol of how heartless these criminals are and why the Government has to take some tough, strong, and decisive actions against these criminals,” Morgan said in an interview with Our Today.
Reports are that around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, residents heard gunshots and called the police. Upon the arrival of the police, two men were seen lying outside a cook shop with gunshot wounds, while two more men were found inside the shop with gunshot wounds.

The men were reportedly taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The police have identified the dead men as: 44-year-old Kish Brown, a shop operator of Line Road in the community; Theo Manning, Varrel Manning, and a man known only as ‘Rasta’ or ‘Tumpa’.
The Clarendon police have not yet apprehended any suspects or determined any motive in connection to the murders.
Morgan is urging citizens who may have information regarding criminal activities to share it with the police.
“If see something or hear something, you can call Crime Stop [ 3-1-1] and try to help us to fix our country. When you call Crime Stop, no one knows your identity unless you want your identity to be revealed. We have an obligation as a society because the next victim could be you, it could be me, it could be our children because when these guys are shooting they don’t care who is there. We just have to come together to try to save our country,” he added.
The parish of Clarendon has seen a 13 per cent increase in murders with 83 cases as of September 30. This is in comparison to the same period last year.
In 2021, the parish of Clarendon was jolted by a similar quadruple murder in Havanna Heights.
