Lisa Muir, 41, and her 24-year-old daughter Amanda Stewart have been jointly charged with the murder of a farmer following an incident in Roses Valley District in St Elizabeth on April 1.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Francois Vassell, the spouse of Stewart, of Roses Valley District.

Reports are that Vassell and his partner were engaged in a dispute that became physical. Muir reportedly joined the altercation armed with a machete causing several wounds to Vassell.

The farmer was reportedly transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), in a statement, indicated that a court date for the mother and daughter has not yet been arranged.
