Mother’s is getting a brand new scintillating look as the franchise continues to be in expansion mode.

So often people would go to the UWI hospital at all hours of the day and not find a suitable place to rest, eat and refresh.

Now, Mother’s Cafe is here opened 24-hours, seven days a week.

This is a well decorated and salubrious cafe, which will be pleasing to staff, patients, visitors and patrons  alike. The revamped Mother’s fills a necessary gap here.

At the launch yesterday, Chairman Jimmy Laurence said that Mother’s is not solely focused on being a quick food service brand in Jamaica, relying on its recognition as a patty-maker.

The aim is to be a global player with restaurants and concessionaires outside of Jamaica.

Last year, Roots Financial Group acquired Mother’s Enterprise Limited. Even then it made it clear that its strategic vision is to create a Caribbean network of integrated businesses with a global focus. Mother’s is very much part of that vision.

Mother’s was founded in 1981 by Carlyse Hudson and Richard Foreman and was an innovator in the patty business, the first to come up with the ‘cheese patty’.

Managing Director of Mother’s Sheldon Seymour said at the launch that the group now operates 9 canteens and 18 restaurants, as it continues to grow the concessionaire business.

The Mother’s Cafe at UHWI is an inviting eatery which is a good bit of business with a guaranteed throughput of customers throughout the entire day. 

An invigorated Mother’s brand will no doubt be a force and is expected to expand its presence. 

It already has three revenue arms, namely: Pimentos, Devon House Bakery and Mother’s Enterprises.

Mother’s Cafe at UHWI is a move in that direction.
