Jamaica’s Yona Knight-Wisdom finished 15th in the men’s three metres springboard event at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Tuesday (August 3).

Knight-Wisdom was awarded 362.95 points, well behind semi-finals top finisher Siyi Xie of China who got 543.45 and failed to progress to the final as he needed to finish in the top eight to earn another six dives.

The Jamaican was awarded 69.75 points in the forward 3.5 somersaults in the pike position; 45.90 points in the inward 3.5 somersaults in the tuck position; 72.00 points in the forward 2.5 somersaults one twist in the pike position; 61.50 points in the back 2.5 somersaults in the pike position; 56.00 points in the reverse 3.5 somersaults in the tuck position; and 57.80 points in the forward 2.5 somersaults two twists in the pike position.

China’s Xie and Zongyuan Wang won the gold and silver medal with 558.75 points and 534.90 points respectively, with Jack Laugher of Great Britain getting the bronze with 518.00 points.
