Workshop to address misinformation about the new technology

The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR), in association with CANTO, will be hosting a ‘Regional Media Workshop on 5G Technology – Is the Region Ready?’

The workshop will be held on September 30.  It is being staged against the background of misinformation about this technology and possible adverse effects.

The event, which will be virtual, will target journalists, telecoms regional regulators as well as telecoms operators and will present a great opportunity for media workers to be informed, and to interact with 5G experts who will be at the event.

Presenters will include representatives of OUR, the Spectrum Management Authority, International Telecommunication Union, GSMA North America, as well as from telecoms companies across the region.

The workshop is endorsed by the Association of Caribbean Media Workers.
