As the assessment of the damage caused by Tropical Storm Grace continues across the Cayman Islands, the local police have distributed photos showing the damage caused by the weather system.
Despite being given the all clear following the storms passage late Wednesday (August 18) many residents on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac are still without electricity.
The local PACT government has announced that will be providing funds to assist with the clean-up activities for individuals adversely affected by the heavy rains.
“It was essential for my team to meet as quickly as possible to get an update on damages resulting from Grace and to agree on the best way forward in returning our Islands to some level of normalcy,” said Premier Wayne Panton.
“While I am pleased that there were no reported injuries or loss of lives, I am saddened to hear that many residents had damages to property,” he added.
The Police helicopter X-Ray One captured a number of images that demonstrate the high seas, destruction of vegetation, and flooding caused by TS Grace across the Cayman Islands.
The below are a few of the photo captured by X-Ray One.
