All nine inmates who absconded police custody from the Constant Spring Police lock-up on Tuesday, August 19, are now back in custody.

The latest one, 19-year-old Alunzo Espute of Cassava Piece in Kingston 8, reportedly turned himself in at the Yallahs Police Station in St Thomas about 1:30 Thursday morning.

The prisoners escaped by cutting their way through a grille and a metal door.

They fled custody shortly after 1 AM.

They were recaptured in different sections of the island, as far as Westmoreland and Trelawny.

Others were nabbed in St Catherine, and one was nabbed in St Andrew on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Commanding Officer for the St Catherine North Division, SSP Hopton Nicholson, is reminding the public that it’s an offence to harbour fugitives.

His warning comes after one of the escapees was caught in the company of a woman.
