Two weeks ago, Tottenham were top of the league with three wins on the spin.
Today the team from north London lie seventh after being smashed at home by Chelsea earlier today.
In the first half, Spurs played with purpose and energy and seemed set to put the defeat to Crystal Palace last week behind them.
The high press worked with Chelsea forced on the back foot.
The second half was a different story with Spurs running out of both gas and ideas, becoming static and forlorn.
Chelsea’s Thiago Silva scored the opening goal in the 49th minute, heading in when Dele Alli failed to pick him up, out-muscled and out-paced by the smaller man.
With the wind in their sails, Thomas Tuchel’s men put the squeeze on as Tottenham gave up the fight.
Where’s Harry?
He was no where to be seen, dropping deep and was ineffective in this game, again getting very little service.
During the summer, there was wide consensus that he was worth 150 million pounds and was on his way to Manchester City to win a sack full of trophies.

So far this season he looks a shadow of the player he was and if these performances continue, could find himself considered yesterday’s man with the likes of Lukaku, Ronaldo, Salah, Antonio well ahead in the pecking order.
N’Golo Kante scored the second in the 57th minute from a freak deflection off Eric Dier. By this time Tottenham was spent. Ndombele was bereft of energy and could barely get himself around the pitch.
He needs to take training and his professionalism seriously. Today he was unfit. He was completely out of it during the second half and had to be taken off.
Nuno Santo has still not worked out how to get the best out of this Tottenham team and its shortcomings were ruthlessly exposed today. It won’t be long before the fans are asking questions of him.
Santo must have looked with envy over at the visitors’ dugout at Thomas Tuchel who has made Chelsea the top performing team in the EPL.
Playing with an outstanding back three, Christensen, Silva and Rudiger serving as pretorian guards, Mason Mount and Lukaku absolutely awesome up front, Chelsea on recent showings must be one of the favourites to win the league.
There can be no doubt that Tuchel has transformed Chelsea for the better since Frank Lampard’s departure.
Winning is infectious and Tuchel has Chelsea doing just that.
In extra time, Antonio Rudiger brought more pain to Tottenham scoring Chelsea’s third goal, leaving the men in white crestfallen.
Tottenham next take on their bitter rivals Arsenal and should they lose 2-0, Arsenal would have overtaken them in the table. Now that is a sobering prospect.
Only a few weeks back, Tottenham fans were crowing that they were top of the table while Arsenal were bottom.
Funny old game, football.
