Tuesday, March 31, is the last day for eligible persons to register for the May 31, 2026, publication of the national voters’ list.

Persons aged 18 years and older who are Jamaican citizens, or Commonwealth citizens residing in Jamaica for at least 12 consecutive months, are urged to apply by the deadline. Registering to vote is free of cost.

Prospective voters must apply in person at any Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) constituency office island-wide and are advised to wear only bright or dark-coloured clothing to facilitate taking their photograph.

After the in-office application, the EOJ will send a team to verify the applicant’s residence, and then the application will be processed.

Persons already on the Voters’ List are reminded not to reapply. However, electors who have not yet collected their renewed ID card are being asked to do so.

The voters’ list is published twice per year, on May 31 and November 30. Voter identification cards for those added to the May 2026 list will be distributed in June.
