The Office of Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen has announced the first set of details for the upcoming visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Jamaica.

King’s House, in a media statement on Thursday (February 24), said the three-day visit of Prince William and his wife Kate will span between March 22 and March 24.

It is unclear if Jamaica is the first stop in the House of Cambridge’s Caribbean tour, as Belize and The Bahamas are also on the Royals’ travel itinerary.

According to the Governor-General’s office, the visit is part of the celebrations to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation as well as the 60th-anniversary of Jamaica’s independence.

“The Queen has visited Jamaica on six occasions, the last being in 2002 to mark her Golden Jubilee. Jamaica will be one of three Caribbean countries, including Belize and The Bahamas, which the Duke and Duchess will visit on the 2022 Royal Tour,” King’s House noted.
