The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) is reminding citizens that September 30 is the deadline to register for the November 30, 2023 Voter’s List.
In a post on social media, the ECJ said all Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) constituency offices will be open on September 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for voter registration.
Those wishing to be registered are advised to wear only bright or dark-coloured clothing to have their photographs taken.
Only persons who have registered to vote will be able to cast their votes in the upcoming elections.
The upcoming local government election is slated for February 2024. A budget of J$1.7 billion was approved by the Ministry of Finance and Public Service for the activity.
There is no set date yet for the upcoming general election, which is constitutionally due in 2025.
