A St Catherine native has been arrested and charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition and dealing in prohibited weapon relating to an incident along Braeton Parkway, Portmore, St Catherine on Thursday, February 29.

Charged is 28-year-old Ramone McDonald, of Portmore Park, Portmore, St Catherine.

According to police reports, about 10:15 p.m., police officers were on patrol in the area when McDonald was seen acting in a manner which aroused their suspicion of him.

The man was accosted and searched and 28 5.56 cartridges were found in his bag.

He was subsequently charged.

McDonald is scheduled to appear at the St Catherine Parish Court on Monday, March 8.
