This was far from an entertaining game with flair football but Spurs managed to defend well and did not concede goals.

Harry Kane missed a couple of sitters while Alli was industrious running box to box.

New Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo has had a good start to this season but sees room for improvement.

The real test comes in September when Spurs face both Chelsea and Arsenal after the international break.

So…. Tottenham sit top of the league with Arsenal at the bottom and yet to win a game.
