Two-day vaccination blitz gets under way

As COVID-19 cases continue to surge across the island, the Ministry of Health & Wellness has urged members of the public to attend a vaccination site today (January 8) or tomorrow to receive their first or second dose of the AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Johnson & Johnson vaccine for persons 18 years and older. while the first and second dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be available for Jamaicans 12 years and older.

The following are locations and times for the various vaccination blitz sites:

SATURDAY, JANUARY 8, 2022

Kingston & St. Andrew

  • St Joseph’s Hospital, 9am-2pm
  • Duhaney Park Health Centre, 9am-3pm
  • Harbour View Health Centre, 9am-3pm

Westmoreland, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  

  • Savanna-la-mar Central Medical Centre
  • Royale Medical Centre

St. James

  • Montego Bay Comprehensive Health Centre (Type 5), 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Hanover

Lucea Health Centre, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

St. Catherine

  • Old Harbour Civic Centre, 10am-3pm

SUNDAY, JANUARY 9, 2022

 Kingston & St. Andrew

  • Sunrise Health Centre, 9am-2pm

St. Catherine

  • Sydenham Health Centre, 10am-3pm

St. James

  • Montego Bay Comprehensive Health Centre (Type 5), 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The ministry noted that persons should take their vaccination card, a government issued ID or letter from a justice of the peace to the sites.
