US Embassy cancels consular appointments due to no-movement days

The US Embassy in Jamaica has advised that owing to the recently announced no-movement days for September 6 – 7 and 13 – 14, the embassy will be closed for regular consular services on those days.

In a release on Thursday (September 2), the Embassy announced that it would be closed on Monday, September 6 in observance of the US Labor Day holiday and would be cancelling all appointments slated to take place on September 7, 13 and 14 due to the no-movement days.

Visa applicants who were to have visited the Embassy on these days are expected to receive information regarding rescheduling in short order.

In the meantime, the Embassy advised that US citizens requiring emergency assistance can contact the office of American Citizen Services at 876-702-6000 or [email protected] on the listed days for further guidance.
