The National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica, was buzzing with excitement last night as the highly anticipated Xodus Tailgate event officially kicked off Carnival week in Jamaica. The event, which has become a routine for Jamaicans, was headlined by Trinidadian Soca artiste, Voice, who left patrons wanting for more.

Voice gave an outstanding performance, teasing fans with some of his famous hits such as Long Live Soca, Fire Guh Bun Dem, and Out and Bad. He had the audience waving, jumping, and getting on bad for his entire 25-minute set.

Shania Ford, one of the patrons, expressed her pleasure with Voice’s performance, she said, “Voice’s performance was the best part of the night and I really enjoyed his performance- it’s always good watching him perform.”

The tailgate event was in true Jamaican style, with tailgaters pouring in their numbers, some in pairs and some as groups with their open-back vehicles, grills, and coolers to keep the squad full and energized. The stage was lit with intense soca beats from Travis World, Brush 1 The Road Marshall, Selectah Renegade, Major Penny, Nocturnal Sound, and others.

The atmosphere was animated and did not cool off until the wee hours of the morning, with revellers not wanting to leave the venue even after 2:00 am. The Managing Director of Dream Entertainment, co-owners of Xodus, Scott Dunn, expressed his pleasure with the turnout and wished patrons a safe return home.

Dunn said: “I am happy with the turnout and I think from where I stand the numbers are better than
predicted. Carnival 2023 is the grand return of the festival in Jamaica and we are glad we had the
opportunity to do so with a bang to kickstart carnival week officially. I wish everyone a safe
return home.”

The Xodus Team has already begun planning for the highly anticipated Road March, where they will execute as the biggest band on the road and treat patrons to “the best carnival experience” yet.
