A 10-year-old boy from Maryland, USA, was attacked by a shark while on an expedition with his parents at a Shark Tank at a local resort in Paradise Island, The Bahamas on Monday, January 15.

The incident took place a little over a month after the shark attack that claimed the life of Lauren Erickson Van Wart near the Sandals Royal Bahamian resort, less than 30 minutes away.

A shark tank expedition typically refers to a guided trip or excursion where individuals have the opportunity to interact with sharks in their natural habitat. It usually includes other activities such as shark diving or snorkeling in a designated area.

Bahamian police have confirmed the incident and reported that the boy was bitten on his right leg, shortly before 3 pm.

He is currently at the hospital in stable condition. Police have not confirmed the type of shark that attacked the boy.

Investigations are still ongoing.

The name of the resort where the incident took place has not been confirmed either.
