Threads of Us — a powerful new feature film born from the heart of Kingston — has officially wrapped production. 

Directed by acclaimed Caribbean filmmaker Mykal Cushnie and written by Donisha Prendergast, granddaughter of reggae legends Bob and Rita Marley, the film is an emotionally charged love story that explores injustice, resilience, and the unbreakable ties that bind us.

Set entirely in modern-day Jamaica and supported by the Bob Marley Museum, Threads of Us features a stellar Caribbean cast and soundtrack contributions from Grammy-winning reggae artistes—all crafted to showcase the very best of Jamaican storytelling and sonic culture.

Writer/Producer Donisha Prendergast and Director Mykal Cushnie take a moment on set during the filming of Threads of Us. Their creative partnership anchors the film’s message of love, truth, and justice, brought to life through a distinctly Jamaican lens.

The film follows the quiet love between Malcolm, a factory worker, and Danielle, a seamstress. When Malcolm is wrongfully accused of a crime, their world unravels, testing the strength of love in the face of systemic injustice.

Produced by Direct Shoot Edit Jamaica, Humanity Ova Vanity, and a powerhouse team of Caribbean production houses, the film is positioned to spark conversations and make waves across the global indie film circuit.
