Manchester United have completed the signing of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa after activating his £35 million release clause. 

The 29-year-old has agreed a five-year deal at Old Trafford after helping Belgium reach the World Cup quarter-finals. 

Tielemans joins United after three seasons with Villa and will take over the number 18 shirt previously worn by Casemiro. 

The experienced midfielder arrives with a strong track record, including FA Cup success with Leicester City and a Europa League final win with Villa. 

His arrival continues United’s midfield rebuild, following the recent additions of Andrey Santos and goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
