As it marks the Chinese Lunar New Year, known as the Spring Festival, and the first day of the Year of the Tiger, the Chinese Embassy in Kingston has wished Jamaicans “a happy, healthy, successful and prosperous New Year”.

Said the embassy: “This year marks the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Jamaica, and we look forward to working with you to jointly push forward China-Jamaica Strategic Partnership to a new high.”

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will open on February 4 and China, the embassy noted, is ready to present a simple, safe and splendid Winter Olympics to the whole world.

“Jamaica has sent the biggest delegation ever to Beijing 2022. Let’s cheer for them and wish them to make history in Beijing,” the embassy said.

“Hope you will enjoy the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, as it brings hope, humanity, unity and solidarity to all of us.”
