Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for St Andrew Eastern, Fayval Williams, has retained her seat for a third consecutive term, defeating People’s National Party candidate Patricia Duncan-Sutherland.

Williams, Jamaica’s first female Minister of Finance, has been able to retain the heart of most voters from the constituency during the 2025 General Election.

She also defeated Sutherland and a third candidate, Carl Cargill, with 6,824 votes.

Duncan secured 6,386 votes, and Cagill 73 votes.

This is also the third loss for Duncan-Sutherland. She ran twice in South East Clarendon and moved into the capital, but has again not managed to take the seat
