Young genre-bending, indie recording artiste GAIL is riding on a steady momentum with the release of new single ‘Meta Zen‘.

In an industry saturated with noise, GAIL stands out for her vocal clarity, emotional range, and lyrical sincerity. “I don’t DJ. I sing,” she affirmed. “I want to be known as a dynamic and versatile artiste who delivers quality—both in sound and performance.”

Born and raised in the lush Breadbasket parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, GAIL (born Gail Mullings) is an emerging force in the Jamaican music landscape.

From her early days singing in church at Munro Preparatory School and Hampton School for Girls to her academic journey at the University of the West Indies, GAIL’s musical path has been grounded in purpose, soul, and a passion for storytelling.

Her musical journey began as a child, encouraged by her father, who plays the guitar. That spark grew into a flame when she joined the band Cure of Souls, performing across Jamaica’s South Coast at hotspots like Jack Sprat and Jakes in Treasure Beach.

By 2018, GAIL entered the studio, and in 2020, she officially launched her solo career with the release of her debut single ‘In Time‘—a soulful ballad that set the tone for her musical versatility and vocal finesse.

Since then, GAIL has released five additional tracks and her latest 2025 single, ‘Meta Zen‘, a roots reggae-inspired meditation on healing and self-empowerment.

While her sound draws from reggae, dancehall, pop, soul, and R&B, GAIL resists being boxed into any single genre. “I love feel-good music,” she says. “Whether you’re heartbroken, in love, need to dance, or need to heal—there’s a GAIL song for that.”

An independent artiste, GAIL primarily collaborates with Plenti Music Group, which mixed and mastered her first five tracks. Her latest single, “Medicine,” was produced by Unit X Production, highlighting her openness to working across creative platforms as she continues to shape her sound.
