The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in collaboration with the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), will host the LAC Transport Forum 2026 on September 29-30 in Miami, bringing together transport authorities, private-sector leaders, international organisations, and investors to advance transport infrastructure development across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The forum will feature the participation of IDB Group President Ilan Goldfajn, as well as ministers, vice ministers, and senior government officials from 16 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, presenting concrete investment opportunities. 

The event will serve as a unique platform to connect governments, project developers, financial institutions, and investors, fostering new partnerships to accelerate the development of sustainable, resilient, and inclusive transport infrastructure throughout the region.

Several important announcements are expected during the forum, including the signing of a cooperation agreement with Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.

Under the theme “Expanding the Transport Sector’s Impact: Public and Private Sector Delivering Results,” the forum will strengthen collaboration around a central challenge: how stronger institutional capacity can transform transport investments into better projects, greater development impact, and increased private-sector participation.
