Copping the third place sash at the 2025 ManHunt International Supermodel Competition on Tuesday (June 10) in Bangkok, Thailand, was one Rhyeme Wright, a Jamaican correctional officer and part-time model, strongly believed was attainable before he journeyed to the foreign territory.

After months of preparation on the island, the 21-year-old was able to proudly wave the Jamaican flag among the top three before the curtains for the event came down inside the CDC Ballroom.

Manhunt International is one of the longest-running international male model contests. It is one of the most prestigious male model competitions, where contestants are judged based on the best commercial model, best catwalk, best runway model, best physique, best continental model, and best in formal wear.

After competing among the more than 40 representatives from around the world during the 31st staging of the Supermodel Competition, Wright told Our Today that the competition has helped him to become more confident about life.

“So far, my confidence has grown immensely, and I’m proud to be called Jamaican. This is proof that anybody can become great as long as they are disciplined enough to do what it takes. I am coming from a humble home, and look, I am flying the flag in Thailand,” Wright said. “I hoped to be the winner of this year, but given that I did not win, the values, the connections, the pride and the confidence I gained from this competition will definitely catapult me in other areas where I will continue to be successful.”

For the finals, he wore a tuxedo that was sponsored by Enigma Elite located at Shoppes at Southdale, South Avenue in Jamaica.

Wright was born and raised in St. Thomas, Jamaica and attended the Morant Bay and St Thomas Technical High Schools.

For his success, he credits his eldest brother, Kirk, for instilling in him the strength of character and skills to survive. As for his resilience, he credits American motivational speaker and author David Goggins for being a shining example, whose strong will and determination have also motivated him.

He enjoys reading novels, writing screenplays and poems, working out and perfecting his modelling craft. As a lover of nature, Wright is easy-going and enjoys exploring parks and green areas and cannot resist a fun-filled hangout with friends.

“In my downtime, I go to the gym, write poems and screenplays. I believe that it is important for a man to lose, because that’s where he learned from his mistakes, and I have had my fair share of misfortunes, but I am here now, standing proud and defiant,” he said.

His ambition is to become his best self, and he has his sights set on becoming a successful model and achieving his lifelong dream of being an architect. His mantra is to give people hope and be a beaming example of someone who has defied the odds while on the road to success.

Manhunt International 2025 is Mister France, Adonis Renaud, and the first runner-up is Piyumal Sithum from Sri Lanka.
