Jamalco were crowned Netball Jamaica Supreme Ventures champion following a thrilling 46-45 win over Rockerz at the Leila Robinson Courts at the National Stadium on Saturday, May 24.

In front of a vibrant crowd, Jamalco, coached by Winston Nevers, rallied to beat the Kurt Dale-coached Rockerz in a thrilling come-from-behind victory. Jamalco’s Goalkeeper, Paula-Ann Burton, put on a defensive masterclass to earn the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Earlier, Tivoli Gardens secured third place after a decisive win, while Speg “B” defeated Global “B” 36-21 to win the Minor League final.

In the Intermediate “B” League, Jobs Lane edged Maxfield “B” 34-32 in double overtime in a hard-fought victory, while Police “A” claimed a narrow 35-32 win over Liguanea “A” in the Intermediate “A” Final, capping off thrilling action.

As a highlight to end the season, 18 teams that did not advance to the playoffs participated in the Last Chance Rally, a spirited competition supported by Mitsubishi Motors, which offered cash prizes and was won by Police “B” with Maxfield “A” finishing as runners-up.

Tricia Robinson, President of Netball Jamaica, had high praise for the players and the sponsors.

“This season was truly special, the competitiveness, discipline and growth we’ve witnessed on and off the court have been phenomenal,” said Robinson. “These leagues are the lifeblood of our netball community, and we thank all the clubs, coaches and supporters for their dedication.
