
The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) is celebrating the conferment of National honours on four of its members.
The official announcement by King’s House named among the 2023 honourees: Gordon Townsend and Clifton Reader, who will be awarded Orders of Distinction, for their respective contribution to the development of tourism in and destination management.
Shernette Crichton and Christopher Jarrett also receive Orders of Distinction (Commander Class) for their contribution to the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Robin Russell, president of the JHTA noted in a statement that, “we are elated at this recognition of the contributions of our members to national development and in particular, the tourism sector”.
“Our association has a cadre of hospitality and tourism professionals who have given dedicated and committed service to building our invaluable tourism industry. We know that all can’t be lauded but we appreciate the special recognition of this year’s nominees.”
