
Rushell Clayton secured the bronze medal in the women’s 400m hurdles, clocking a personal best time of 52.81 seconds at the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest on Thursday, August 24.
The competition, which featured some of the finest athletes in the world, saw Clayton’s performance earn her a spot on the podium.
The gold medal was claimed by Femke Bol of the Netherlands in a time of 51.70 seconds. Following closely behind was Shamier Little from the United States, securing the silver medal in a time of 52.80 seconds, marking a season’s best for her.
Clayton’s medal brings Jamaica’s medal tally to five, alongside the gold for Danielle Williams in the women’s 100m hurdles, and Antonio Watson in the men’s 400m, silver for Wayne Pinnock in the men’s long jump, and bronze for Tajay Gayle in the men’s long jump
