On the anniversary of the 2025 General Elections, the PNP Parliamentary Group met over two days and discussed a range of issues in preparation for our 88th Anniversary Conference.

The Group reached consensus on the following:

• The immediate focus of the Party is on the issues affecting the Jamaican people, including back to school, high cost of living, the drought, slow Hurricane Melissa response and poor infrastructure.
• Our elected representatives and party workers are tasked with focusing on the work programme outlined by the Secretariat and approved by the NEC.
• The Parliamentary Group reaffirms its commitment to the democratic processes and constitution of the Party.
• Our political activities will focus on preparation for the impending Local Government Election and strengthening representation in the Parliament.
• The Parliamentary Group, under the leadership of Comrade Mark Golding, confirmed our commitment to a strong and unified Party focused on building a better Jamaica that puts people first

“Members of Parliament and party workers across the island are now tasked with driving forward the work programme set by the Secretariat and endorsed by the National Executive Council,” said Phillip Paulwell, MP, Leader of Opposition Business. “This is about translating the concerns raised on the ground, whether it is getting children back to school, the price of a market basket, or the state of a rural road, into consistent, organised representation.”

Senator Donna Scott Mottley, Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate, said the retreat also strengthened the Group’s resolve ahead of the upcoming Local Government Election. “We reaffirmed our commitment to the democratic processes and constitution of our Party, and to strengthening our representation in Parliament. Every Comrade left this retreat more focused and more united.”
