Pump prices swing favourably for Jamaicans this week

Petrojam returns with another improved week for the motoring public as the state-owned refinery unveils a further reduction in its baseline prices.
Petrojam, in its closely watched petroleum product price index, advised that 87-octane gasoline will sell for $4.50 less effective today (April 27), closing at J$168.48 per litre.
It is the refinery’s second consecutive price cut in as many weeks following three weeks of sharp increases.
Thursday’s price cuts are consistent for most products on Petrojam’s index, with the biggest single drops recorded for 87-octane gasolene, kerosene, automotive diesel and its ultra-low sulphur counterpart—all falling by $4.50 respectively.
It is expected that retailers will add their mark-ups to the announced prices.
