Team members from Sandals and Beaches Negril had an early start to their morning with a beach cleanup at the Cosmos Beach, in Negril, Westmoreland to honour World Wetlands Day on Wednesday (February 2).
The day aims to raise global awareness around the significance of wetlands and how persons can preserve and restore those that have been degraded.
The initiative, which saw the collection of almost 300lbs of plastic bottles, bags, straws and other scrap and waste materials, is part of the resorts and Sandals Foundation’s continuous efforts to protect the island’s natural resources.
The Sandals and Beaches Negril team said they were more than excited to clean up all the garbage they could.
