Sandals Negril recently hosted its annual health and wellness fair for more than 500 team members in keeping with a focus on the health and wellbeing of all employees.
The resort said its human resources team, partnered with other departments connected with health care providers including the Orange Bay Health, Executive Ground Ambulance Services Limited and MediSpa(EGAS), and The Red Lane Fitness Centre, to provide a wide range of services all free of cost to resort employees.
The resort also provided goodies from Goodness Gracious Nature’s Way and Cool Burst Natural Juices team members as well.

Among the services offered were HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, blood pressure, blood sugar and weight/BMI checks, medical checkups and consultation, ambulance services, fitness sessions and nutritional guidance and the provision of shakes, natural juices, vitamins, condiments and healthy snacks for persons on the go.
The major highlights for many team members were the complimentary massage teasers, manicures, pedicures, makeup touchups, facials and barber services offered by EGAS.
“I had to have my blood pressure and sugar tested because I wanted to make sure I was all good. I also enjoyed some of the goodies they offered and benefited from the services of the barber,” shared Chad Ghirawoo from the resort’s engineering department.

“That was such an amazing experience for me. Can I tell you that this was my first time doing a manicure, pedicure and massage? I am a dancer and sometimes I have backaches, cramping and pain in my feet,” said playmaker Jwaquim Henry.
“When I learnt that we would have these services free of charge at the fair I knew I had to get these done. The massage really helped to ease the pain and tension in my back and legs and I felt so much better after. I must thank Sandals for doing this for us; I really felt cared for and appreciated.”

Accountant Monique Munroe enjoyed her massage teaser and also loved the offering of natural juices, nuts and vitamins that she took advantage of.
Interim Human Resources Manager Kayla Hilton shared that this health fair formed part of a series of events aimed at promoting the wellbeing of team members.
“The feedback was very good and it is a satisfying feeling hearing the reviews from the team members and knowing that we delivered on our promises.”

“Our mission states that we are a family that cares about our team members and this is one of our ways to show care,” Hilton said.
“We expect a lot from our team and we want them to be in the best of health, mentally, emotionally and physically. We believe that once emphasis is placed on taking care of their overall health, productivity will be at its optimum. The feedback was very good and it is a satisfying feeling hearing the reviews from the team members and knowing that we delivered on our promises.”
Hilton further expressed her appreciation to the entire Sandals Negril team and all the external partners for their efforts and involvement in making the day a huge success.

According to Andrew Mullings, CEO of EGAS, joining forces with Sandals to benefit their team members was something they value.
“We always enjoy partnering with Sandals in events such as these. Their dedication to their team members is something EGAS shares as well. We are passionate about service and we love people. You will always see me at these events because I love my team and I love to see the impact they have on others,” Mullings said.
“It is also our way of connecting with our members. The EGAS and Sandals partnership is a win-win, we just want to make service providers feel at ease.”
He also revealed that EGAS will be launching its ‘Massage on Break’ initiative where hardworking individuals throughout the various organisations they support will access complimentary massages on their lunch breaks.
