The global golf tourism market is estimated to generate between $25 billion and $31 billion annually. So, on September 9th to 13th, Sandals Resorts hosted its 22nd Annual USA Travel Advisors Golf Tournament. There were over 100 travel advisors from America who participated in the tournament, and all stayed at the Sandals Resorts.
The tournament took place at the Sandals Upton Estate Golf & Country Club in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The golf course is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course offering sweeping mountain and ocean views from 700 feet above sea level.

Jake ColdIron, Sandals Resorts National Manager of Golf Sales based in Miami, says, “These travel advisors love Jamaica and love selling Jamaica, so we brought them down to compete in a golf tournament and build a relationship with the caddies and the golf staff, as well as managers and staff at the resort.”
Johnathan Newnham, who is the Director of Golf Operations and Director of Operations at Sandals Upton Estate Golf and Country Club, says, “The golf course is unique because it’s very user-friendly and you won’t lose many golf balls, and the greens are small and challenging, with amazing caddies and a first-class clubhouse with a great bar and restaurant to enhance the luxury golfing experience.”
