
The Jamaica Bankers Association (JBA) has elected a new president following the resignation of Septimus ‘Bob’ Blake, who suddenly departed NCB Jamaica as chief executive officer.
The JBA advised in a statement today that Audrey Tugwell Henry, president and CEO of Scotiabank Jamaica, was elected to the position at an extraordinary annual general meeting (EAGM) on Wednesday, October 4.
According to the association of bankers, “At the meeting, Mrs Audrey Tugwell Henry was unanimously elected as president of the JBA.”
Prior to being elected as president of the JBA on Wednesday, Tugwell Henry had previously served in the role of vice president.
Commenting on her appointment, Tugwell Henry said: “The Jamaica Bankers Association and its members play an important role in the continued development of the Jamaican economy. We are committed to being a catalyst for change and growth. We will continue to demonstrate high standards of governance and accountability in our operations.”
Radcliffe Daley, who currently serves as president & CEO, First Global Bank Limited, was elected as vice president of the JBA.
Eva Lewis, Citi country officer and head of bank for Citibank N.A., in Jamaica; and Nigel Holness, managing director, FirstCaribbean International Bank (Jamaica), will retain their respective roles as treasurer and secretary, respectively.
