Dancehall artiste Spice will be honoured with ‘The Key To The Region’ of Florida by Vice Mayor Marlon Bolton for her contributions to the music industry.

The handing over ceremony will take place at Fort Lauderdale Marriot North on May 5.

In a release by the ‘Queen of Dancehall’ she shared that she is honoured to receive such recognition from the Florida Vice Mayor.

“I am honored to receive the Key to the Region of Florida from Vice Mayor Bolton. Throughout my career, it has always been important to me to spread our beautiful Jamaican culture around the world. I have visited Florida many times over the years, and it has become another home for me. I am so happy to see our culture represented and appreciated. Thank you,” said the So Mi Like It artiste.

Spice, whose legal name is Grace Hamilton also shared the news with her fans on Instagram, inviting them to come and be a part of the ceremony. In a post on her account on Wednesday (April 26), she posted the flyer and link for the paid event.

“Besties I’m getting honored with the ‘Keys to the Region’ in Miami Florida on May 5th at 6pm and I want you to come celebrate this big moment with me. This is not a small thing , this is a very big thing. Grab you nice clean formal dress code behavior and get a ticket and come meet me at this ball,” said Spice in the caption of the flyer.

The comment section was flooded with hundreds of supporters who congratulated the 40-year old artiste on her distinction.

“Grace is her name and she has graced the whole world. The only female dancehall artiste to do what she’s always been, a Queen stepping high, working hard and hustling bad to make it. And everyday she sets an example for the rest to follow. Remember I said this, Spice teaches you important lessons from her past life experiences. She’s my whole inspiration. Love you Spice Grace Latoya Hamilton, Queen of the World,” one Instagram user wrote.
