Clonmel Primary and Infant School and Bromley Primary in St Mary were the most recent beneficiaries of the Courts Ready Cash islandwide black tank initiative, which seeks to provide water tanks to schools in drought-stricken communities.
The handover of water tanks to both Clonmel and Bromley primary took place on December 6.
Oshea Davis, principal of Clonmel Primary and Infant School, expressed immense joy upon receiving the donation. She emphasised the significant impact of the gesture by Court Ready Cash, especially in an area where water supply poses a major challenge.
Davis highlighted that currently, water is only delivered once a week to the community. This donation is expected to significantly enhance water storage capacity and usage for both students and teachers.

Calef Williams, principal of Bromley Primary School, shared that “this initiative is a welcomed and well-needed one that will make an impact to improve the supply of water for the school community”.
At the handover ceremony, Courts Ready Cash was lauded for their continued commitment to national development.
Yashieka Blackwood Grant, acting director of Regional Educational Services in the Ministry of Education and Youth, who was representing Education Minister Faval Williams, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Courts team.
“What you are doing, Courts Ready Cash, is to ensure that our students are not disadvantaged or are not prevented from having a full school day…and I want to say on behalf of the children and the school, we will take care of this gift, and we will use it effectively to ensure that these ‘blue-tiful’ children have indeed a ‘blue-tiful’ future,” said Blackwood.

Member of Parliament for South East St Mary Dr Norman Dunn said: “One of the significance is that you have not only continue to foster goodwill but you demonstrate from time to time in tangible benefits and activities like this.”
Oscar Kerr, representing the general manager of Courts Ready Cash, Atasha Bernard, expressed that the company’s mandate has always been to give back in a meaningful way, and the brand will continue to make a positive contribution to nation-building.
The water tank initiative was launched in July 2023 at Duckenfield Primary School in St Thomas and continued its rollout to select schools across the island, with the promise to deliver 12 polyethylene water tanks valued at approximately J$1 million to select primary and secondary schools across drought-stricken communities.
