A new era in Jamaican tourism officially began on June 5 as industry leaders, creatives, and cultural stakeholders gathered for the soft launch of ‘Thank You’, a premium app poised to revolutionise how travellers explore and connect with Jamaica.

Held at Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Liguanea, the event marked the unveiling of a platform designed to bridge technology, culture, and community into one seamless travel solution.

Developed by Jamaicans, Thank You will consolidate a once-fragmented tourism ecosystem into a single, centralised platform that allows users to discover, plan, and book curated cultural experiences across Jamaica.

The brand is designed to provide elevated and connected experiences across eco-tourism, culinary adventures, live entertainment, and sports, giving travellers meaningful ways to engage with the island beyond the typical tourist path. In doing so, it embraces the principles of the experience economy, where time and memory define value and positions Jamaica as a destination that delivers authentic, immersive, and lasting experiences.

Beyond curating premium experiences, Thank You will also act as a powerful data engine. The platform will aggregate insights from user interactions and partner listings to provide real-time information and personalised guidance, helping travellers make decisions that match their interests and location. This data-rich approach contributes to the country’s broader tourism strategy, helping partners and policymakers better understand trends and visitor behaviours.

Speaking at the event, Phillip Clarke, director of policy and research in the Ministry of Culture and Entertainment, lauded the app’s potential to elevate cultural appreciation and economic opportunity.

“It is a bold reimagining of how the world connects with our culture, our people, our unique way of life. We have long known that Jamaica’s greatest asset is its people, who are creative, vibrant, resilient and inventive. These qualities shape our our culture and make us a global force in music, food, sport, art and storytelling, and Thank You will make these experiences more accessible, more visible and more valuable in a digital-first world, as too often visitors come to our shores and miss the deeper layers of what Jamaica has to offer,” he said.

Targeting the modern traveller

Echoing this sentiment, state tourism minister Senator Delano Seiveright praised the platform’s innovation and alignment with the ministry’s vision.

“Thank You is quite timely given the times that we are in, and it’s really a positive impact on the tourism landscape and where we want to go as a country,” he said. “As Jamaica expands, reaching tourists from different parts of the world, including India, South America and the Middle East, we have to adapt to appeal to these different groups. Not everybody wants to just stay on a lot at an all-inclusive resort for the entirety of their visit. So an app like Thank You is absolutely critical to ensuring that Jamaica can appeal to all audiences. ”

Built for the modern traveller, Thank You will include features like a real-time experience locator, personalised itinerary planner, and a reward system that offers exclusive merchandise and keepsakes. These tools are designed to transform ordinary trips into immersive, memorable cultural journeys. The platform targets culturally curious, tech-savvy travellers aged 22 to 50 who are eager to go beyond the typical tourist experience. It will feature a dedicated landing page where visitors can pre-register for premium experiences, including guided eco-tours and immersive culinary journeys.

Benefits to local business

Beyond enhancing visitor experiences, Thank You will create valuable growth opportunities for local businesses. Registered entities operating in key tourism corridors that are already active in travel, entertainment, or culture can partner with the platform to gain global visibility, attract new customers, and contribute to long-term sector growth.

Thank You is also inviting local companies to collaborate in promoting the Jamaican experience in a way that has never been done before. “Our goal is to build an ecosystem where both travellers and locals benefit,” said Ewan Campbell, founder of Thank You. “Jamaica has so much to offer, and this platform gives us the opportunity to present that richness in a structured, meaningful, and sustainable way.”
