The three ladies implicated in the $222 million state-run Institute of Sports (INSPORTS) fraud case involving former Financial Controller Andrew Wright have been acquitted.

There are accounting clerks Andrea Picton, Sherene Farquharson and Jonnique Mills, and all have been found not guilty on counts of conspiracy to defraud and corrupt transactions over the last few days.

They were accused of preparing invoices for payments to persons who were not legitimately contracted by the agency and disbursing fraudulent cheques.

Today, (Tuesday), Justice Ann-Marie Lawrence-Grainger is expected to give her verdict on the remaining three co-accused in Wright, Oneil Hope and Rudolph Barnes in the Home Circuit Court.

Wright is said to be the mastermind behind the multi-million dollar fraud that was uncovered in 2017. He was the financial controller, more popularly known as the promoter of the lavish French Connection party along Chug It.

The high-profile case has been before the courts for just over a year.
