WhatsApp is launching in its latest update a new feature that allows users to share high-definition (HD) photos.
The announcement was made on Thursday, August 17, by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg through a Facebook post, signalling a significant upgrade to the popular messaging app.
Once updated, a noticeable addition appears on the photo-sharing screen: a distinct “HD” button positioned at the top right.

Upon tapping the HD button, a pop-up menu emerges, providing users with a choice between “Standard Quality” and “HD Quality”.
Recipients of HD photos will immediately recognise the upgrade, as an “HD” label will appear in the bottom-left corner of the image.
