Weighing in on the decision by Prince Harry and his wife Meghan to return to the U.K. after living in Southern California for six years, President Trump said it was no loss to the U.S. and, in fact, a good thing that they have left.

Both African-American media stars Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry initially supported them and made them feel comfortable in Montecito, California, but both have not commented on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s change of heart. In her interview with Oprah, Meghan said the royal family are racist and made it difficult for both her and her husband. They decided to forgo their royal duties and left the U.K. six years ago.

Asked about Harry and Meghan’s move back to the U.K., President Trump told reporters, “ I’m happy about it. I was not a fan. I had a very good relationship with the Queen and King Charles. I thought Harry and Meghan treated the Royal Family with great disrespect. I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the way she acted.”

The Sussexes thought they were going to be huge international media stars with hit shows on Netflix. There was even talk that Meghan could run for Governor of California. The reality is they struggled to find their way in America and were running out of money.

After the Oprah interview, there will not be a lot of love and support for them from the British public, and it will take some time to win the good favour of the people of Britain. There is a lot of disdain for Meghan, and PR will do little to help her.

President Trump continued: “I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the Queen, to King Charles. I don’t know, maybe I’m different. I wouldn’t have taken them back. If I were the Royal Family, I would not have taken them back.

Prince Harry recently lost a big libel case against the Daily Mail and now has to pay the British tabloid millions of pounds while he is now out of work.

After turning their backs on the U.K., opting out of being working royals and Meghan not showing respect to her husband’s family, it will be difficult for Brits to forgive and forget.

A recent YouGov America poll showed a fall in Meghan’s popularity from 37 per cent last year to 29 per cent this summer.
