Šulgan, Bynoe and Julien step into expanded regional roles committed to accelerating the Caribbean’s digital future

Liberty Caribbean, the operators of Flow, Liberty Business and BTC, has announced executive appointments that strengthen its commercial leadership across the region, with Simone Martin-Šulgan taking on an expanded role as VP, Country Manager for Barbados and Head of Brand, Media and Communications, and Jason Julien joining the company as VP, Country Manager for Trinidad and Tobago.

In her expanded role, Martin-Šulgan will lead the commercial and financial performance of Liberty Caribbean’s operations in Barbados, while at the regional level, she will have responsibility for strengthening the company’s brands, driving greater consistency across its storytelling, marketing initiatives and deepening engagement with customers, employees, and key stakeholders.

Martin-Šulgan has led Liberty Caribbean’s commercial operations in Trinidad and Tobago for the past five years and takes over in Barbados from Desron Bynoe who has transitioned to a new commercial leadership role to bring his expertise to other markets within the company.

Jason Julien joins Liberty Caribbean as VP, Country Manager for Trinidad and Tobago. He will be responsible for the commercial and financial performance of Liberty Caribbean’s operations in Trinidad and Tobago, the company’s second-largest market, leading the team as it builds on its current momentum, progress achieved to date and positions the business for its next phase of growth.

Julien joins Liberty Caribbean from First Citizens Group Financial Holdings, where he served as Group CEO. He brings extensive leadership experience from a large, complex, and highly regulated, customer-focused organisation, with a track record spanning business transformation, digitalisation, cultural change, and regional growth.
