Kanye West fired the first shot, with both praises and ‘pee yews’ as critics and listeners had mixed reactions to his 10th album, Donda, named after his late mother.

Now, bitter rival Drake is up to bat, with his long awaited and, according to some reports, final album, Certified Lover Boy, finally ready to drop tomorrow (September 3).

With so many delays since the album should have first come out nine months ago, Drake this morning, in a surprise marketing move, revealed in no uncertain terms that CLB will be available on streaming services Friday and won’t disappoint.

On billboards across the United States and in other countries around the world this morning, Drake’s team erected billboards detailing the artistes slated to be featured on the album that comes a week after West debuted his feature heavy and lengthy Donda.

Among CLB‘s featured artistes, according to the billboards, will be Jay-Z, Giveon, Future, Ty Dolla $ign, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Lil Durk and Nigerian singer Tems.

As music lovers salivate over CLB, the question on many a mind is whether Drake’s new album will crush Ye’s latest effort with the former being known for banging beats and lyrical flow matched by no other, while the latter’s music is genre-defying and often ahead of its time.

Yes, Kanye is known as a musical genius, but despite outstanding performances from every one of its featured acts, Donda will, at least for now, remain a divisive album and only time will if it is ultimately deemed one of the greatest or worst of all time.

On the other hand, you can expect to know within the first 20 minutes whether Drake has knocked it out of the park yet again. It is assured that he will.
