Cristiano Ronaldo recently proved his value as an influencer with his rejection of Coca-Cola and expression of a preference for water.

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has come out on top of the Instagram Richlist, put together by social media marketing firm Hopper HQ.

The 36-year-old forward for Italian club Juventus, who has won five Champions League titles and numerous league titles with clubs including Spain’s Real Madrid and England’s Manchester United, is believed to charge more per post than any other user on the popular social media platform.

According to Hopper HQ, Ronaldo commands a fee of US$1,604,000 per post, seen by his 295,984,958 followers. He has since the collating of data passed 309 million followers on Instagram.

Coming in a close second with US$1,523,000 charged per post was actor and former wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Those willing to pay, Hopper HQ showed, get the opportunity to have their product or message seen by his 242,182,295 followers, which has since passed 250 million.

Rounding out the top 10 were singer Ariana Grande, influencer Kylie Jenner, singer Selena Gomez, influencer Kim Kardashian, Ronaldo’s footballing rival Lionel Messi, singer Beyonce, singer Justin Bieber, and model Kendall Jenner, all of whom had more than 167 million followers and charged more than US$1 million per post.

Ranked at 11 was singer Taylor Swift, who had 160 million followers and was the only other individual on the list to charge more than US$1 million.

At the bottom of the list, ranked at 395, is African influencer Dehkunle, who charges US$100 per post for a chance to be seen by his 12,927 followers.

Interestingly, another African, Mercy Johnson-Okoje, who is ranked at 90, charges US$65,300 for a chance to be seen by her 10,382,136 followers.

Her followers line up with those of Jamaican sprinting legend Usain Bolt, who has 10.2 million followers but does not turn up on the list.

Unless Bolt just didn’t show up on Hopper HQ’s radar, this might just be another income stream the retired Olympian should consider.
