Following her 37-goal performance against GIANTS on Friday, Jhanielle Fowler scored 36 against Collingwood Magpies on Saturday (February 26) to send the West Coast Fever into Sunday’s Team Girls Cup grand final.

West Coast Fever defeated Collingwood 50-40 to so far remain undefeated in the competition after defeating Giants on Friday and Thunderbirds on Saturday before meeting Collingwood in their final Pool B game in Melbourne on Saturday night.

Thanks to Fowler’s 95 per cent (36/38) shooting accuracy and Sasha Glasgow, who was perfect from the field with goals and two super shots, Fever took a 14-9 lead into the first break. They outscored Collingwood 11-8 in the second quarter to take a 25-17 lead into the break.

Collingwood would emerge from the break in fighting spirit, cutting into Fever’s lead with a 13-9 performance, at one point drawing level with Fever, before a late Suncorp Super Shot from Alice Teague-Neeld helped Fever rebuild a four-point buffer before the three-quarter time break.

Fever would regain control of the game scoring 16 goals to Collingwood’s 10 to wrap up the victory.

The Grand Final will be played on Sunday, with Fever’s opponents to be finalised after the completion of Pool A games on Saturday night.
