Practitioners and aspirants of both the local entertainment and creative industries are about to gain insight into the music industry’s evolution with the launch of ‘Music Mastery: Empowering the Sound Industry’, a dynamic one-day workshop designed to provide practical knowledge, creative insights, and strategic connections.

The immersive hybrid event will take place both in-person and online, offering access and flexibility for a diverse cohort of participants ranging from artistes and producers to managers, promoters, and music entrepreneurs. With the support of the Creative Caribbean Project, and powered by a shared vision to uplift the region’s creative economy, the Music Mastery Workshop represents more than just training—it is a movement that will equip creatives with the knowledge and tools as well as the additional network needed to thrive in today’s fast-changing music landscape.

Four key thematic areas will guide the day’s sessions, covering practical business and financial tools for the modern music professional, creative skill-building in production and cultural expression, collaboration etiquette, intellectual property rights and legal frameworks, and the impact of emerging technologies on music distribution.

Headline Entertainment Managing Director Jerome Hamilton

“We’re empowering creatives not just to make music, but to own it, understand it, and build sustainable careers from it,” said Headline Entertainment Managing Director Jerome Hamilton, one of the organisers of the workshop. “Music Mastery is about equipping a new generation of industry professionals with the full 360-degree perspective from artistry to entrepreneurship.”

Participants can expect four workshops led by seasoned industry professionals such as Steve Wilson, Artiste Manager, Michael ‘Mikie’ Bennett, Music Producer and Composer, Dana Shayegan, Music, Media & Technology Executive, and Evon M. Mullings, General Manager at Jamaica Music Society (JAMMS), all of whom have several years of experience in commercial and corporate matters, intellectual property, civil litigation and in the entertainment industry. These professionals have demonstrated dedication to fostering cross-disciplinary growth and regional collaboration.

The workshop is open to industry participants of all levels, including emerging and independent artistes, songwriters, composers, artiste managers,  producers, engineers, and studio professionals, right across the region for free.

Participants across the Caribbean region will walk away with greater insights relevant to the music industry, enhanced artistic capacity, a deeper understanding of intellectual property rights and music ownership, and stronger connections within the industry through meaningful community partnerships. Whether they’re refining their craft, launching a career, or evolving with the times, this is the space to connect, learn, and level up. Registration details will be shared soon and persons interested in the Music Mastery Workshop are being asked to stay tuned to be part of this transformative experience.

The Music Mastery programme is made possible through the Creative Caribbean Project, funded by the ACP EU Culture Programme and implemented by UNESCO, the CARICOM Secretariat, and The University of the West Indies (UWI). Together, these partners are committed to building a vibrant creative ecosystem across the region.
