National sprint hurdles champion Megan Tapper had social media in a frenzy this morning with congratulatory messages after she posted pictures of her signing with sportswear giant Adidas.

The 31-year-old who won bronze at the 2020 Olympic Games in the 100 hurdles has been performing for the last few years without a sportswear sponsor and was kept afloat by Sandals Group as the lone sponsor.

But Tapper, who had endured a rough time, including a reported split from her husband, rebounded in style this year with some sizzling displays that were not unnoticed by Adidas.

Tapper won the Jamaican Championship, beating one of the World Championship favourites Ackera Nugent, stopping the clock at 12.34, lowering her personal best from 12.44 set in 2023.

She repeated her fantastic time of 12.34 in capturing the Monaco Diamond League, dismissing a world-class field, which puts her among the favourites heading to the World Championship next month.

“Believe nuh man,” she posted on X with a picture of her superimposed with the Adidas sign.

She posted on Facebook: “31 and still hurdling limits… Here’s to 4 golden years with the giant adidas.”

Tapper said in an interview with Sportsmax.TV: “At 31, I’m not slowing down, I’m levelling up. Honoured to sign a four-year deal with Adidas as we chase greatness, stride for stride in three stripes.”
